Next week in Berlin starts a conference on Meditation (in German): from May 10 to May 12 an impressive series of German and international researchers explore the cultural practices of Meditation in Religion, Ästhetik, Bildung und Therapie. Emotion, Körper und rituelle Praxis. Contributions come from cultural history and ethnography, medicine and neuroscience, educational studies and religious studies, from sinology and art history. The invited researchers present and discuss meditation texts in Buddhism and Islam, in Indian philosophy, and popular spirituality and literature as well as in psychotherapy and in medicine – in calligraphy, in dreaming and in social encouters.
