As part of the thematic weekend Krieg singen (Singing the War) currently in preparation by Detlef Diederichsen and Holger Schulze at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin for January 2016 rapper and artist Rayess Bek is conducting a weeklong workshop.

Musicians, tinkerers, comedians and artists will form ranks as the Future War Orchestra: this sonic fiction of an orchestra will use sound bites to write a composition that imagines the soundscape of a future war. The orchestra will perform the composition on the final day of the festival, January 17th, 2016.

You can be part of this workshop and of the Future War Orchestra: The workshop, held in English, will take place from January 11-16, 2016 from 10am to 5pm daily.

Applications can be sent to workshop@hkw.de until December 20, 2015 including a one-page CV – possible with links to previous work, and a brief statement explaining why you want to take part (participation is free of charge).
