From today on the programme of the first ever international conference of the European Sound Studies Association (ca. 500 members at the present day) at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin on Functional Sounds: Auditory Culture & Sound Concepts in Everyday Life is online and registration is open:
From October 4th to October 6th there will be 60 presentations, talks and lectures by researchers and artists from 20 countries inside and outside of Europe; the conference has been organized in cooperation with the Sound Studies Lab at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
A programme committee out of 13 well-known and influential researchers in sound studies (cf. here) selected the presentations out of over 120 contributions and proposals; there will be six different streams from Methodologies and Theories in the Humanities up to Soundscapes of the Urban Future.
