On May 11th-13th the international research network Sound in Media Culture met for the fifth time to discuss current issues in the field of sound studies. This time we met in Lüneburg, close to Hamburg, hosted by Rolf Großmann and the Schwerpunkt audio of the Leuphana-Universität Lüneburg. We discussed the developments in new technology of recent decades and their implications and transformations concerning new sound practices ranging from the Roland TB-303 to just released iPad-applications; our special guests this time were Paul Théberge, Steve Goodman, Julian Henriques and Mark Butler. You can find an account of the discussions in Lüneburg (including selected pictures) over at the network’s weblog.
