Although the opening of the new Berlin international airport has been postponed until next year the commissioned art works are ready for take-off. One of the participating artist is Bjørn Melhus, who’s dedicated work Gate X will feature a mobile smart phone app, incorporating an highly entertaining embedded reality interface. The application is loaded with a dedicated set of functional sounds, specially designed for multitouch interfaces and the application content.

As we enjoy flying in and out of Berlin from our beloved TXL airport for another year, we eagerly await the opening of the new airport to lay our hands, ears and eyes on “Gate X”.
